Born as a rambunctious male by the name of Levi, he was for the most part considered willingly homeless. His father was a single father after the death of his mother in a car accident Levi was too young to remember. With his father's busy schedule and the sitter's (his older half sister) lack of attention he would often escape outside to play with the strays that had taken a great liking to him. He eventually came to consider the cat's presence more of a family then his own and would go missing for days as he stayed with them, they teaching him to hunt small critters such as mice (which he usually cooked as they ate them raw). At night the cats would gather around the boy, to keep him warm in the colder of times. Because he was so sly and neither of his guardians paid attention to him he wasn't really looked for during these times. 
In a winter night when the the young boy was 8 he woke up to hissing, his family being disturbed by something they weren't fond of to any extent. Starting to wake he saw the shadowy shapes of men capturing his feline family. Frozen for a moment the cats tried to push him away, despite knowing their fate to be captured. It took him a few moments to realize this and by that time the men had seen him and were coming for him. He tried to scramble away, and even when captured made sure to make sure he left alot of scars, bites marks and injuries to the men who did have a hard time keeping a hold on the little boy. he in the end failed to escape and was captured with some of his cat family. 
His memory of the labs is very vague, most likely blocked out. He was put in the room with other cats, some who were dead, others who were dying and the final group that who knew they were going to die. He never recalled how long he was in, though hew knew it was a few years, and during his time watched many many cats die long painful deaths from what ever was pumped into the air and also what was fed to them. Regardless of what it was Levi managed to become a feline shifter, usually shifting to a household cat and hiding among the other felines when the scientist came looking for him. They eventually picked out which one he was and tested his abilities and put him through courses to see how fast he could shift between human and feline. 
His escape was actually quite planned, as the men had to bring in more cats as the other died they waited for this moment. When they came in the rush of felines came and a handful managed to escape, Levi among them. After this point he wandered a while as a cat, trying to make home among the streets. This however meant he couldn't shift to a human and feeling very restricted he ran from human society and opted maybe the forests that stretched between land might be a better and quieter home
He stumbled across Amara on accident, still being in his cat form and was just came across a few people who lived among it. He remained in his cat for for a while, unsure if this place was safe for him. As he saw other shifters he decided only thing he could do was speak with them and hope they were trustworthy (which thankfully they were)
Even in current day he tends to be a cat when out and only becomes a human on very few occasions. Everyone refereed to him as "Midnight" due to his black coat, a name that ended up sticking. He now is the 'pet' of Grim, and lives with him in his cemetery house. 

Midnight is a very grumpy cat, though seems rather calm. He's well known for being quite sharp tongued and has little care if he angers anyone or comes off as 'unfriendly'. He has a lot of wild instincts, hissing and growling often at anyone he doesn't know. Easiest way to tame him is just take it very slow, though food helps greatly. He's fond for snuggling into woman's breasts and in most cases just comes off as a unfriendly cat over a human. Its rare for him to speak as a cat but he has done so before. As a cat he is very lazy, most of his time spent napping on tombstones. 
As a human he's very flirty, kind of laid back but skittish if he finds something uncomfortable. He's uneasy around larger animals and people, though bares along as he's rather short. He's not the most educated in words and speaks pretty simply, though can be very sneaky and is well known for pick pocketing and stealing (though for fun, he usually returns the item taken once the person catches him or they give up). He's pretty friendly and is known to apologize for his theft game. He does very well with felines of any kind, finding a soothing feeling to even the more vicious of felines.
